More than 120 years in Plaza de Santa Ana

Over all these years, we have always strived to improve day by day, but without losing a bit of our core essence: the pleasure of having a cold beer with a delicious tapa, something so simple yet so magical.

La Alemana was founded on March 20, 1904. A group of German industrialists decided to open a place in Madrid, at number 7 in Plaza de Santa Ana, which for several years was renamed Plaza del Príncipe Alfonso. The establishment was originally intended exclusively for beer consumption and featured a décor that has remained almost unchanged to this day, although the Prussian fireplace and the large Bavarian mirror that once adorned its walls are no longer there.
