Casa Labra, located on Tetuán Street, formerly known as Los Peregrinos Street, has remained unchanged since its founding in 1860, thanks to the fame and popular recognition that the city of Madrid has bestowed upon its fried cod and croquettes made from the same ingredient.

In 1947, Casa Labra was acquired by the Molina family, its current owners. This lively and bustling tavern is a living part of Madrid’s history, frequented by people from all walks of life who come to enjoy its delicious culinary offerings.

It was in this tavern that the Spanish Socialist Workers’ Party (PSOE) was founded on May 2, 1879, in secret. A bronze plaque on the facade commemorates this historic event.
